Justin Bieber Concert in Pictures

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber launched his World Purpose Tour in Kórinn, Kópavogur, last night. This was the largest musical event in Icelandic history with about 18,000 fans, often dubbed Beliebers, attending.

Girls in their teens made up the majority of the audience, some of whom had arrived at the concert venue as early as 7 am. Interviewed by local media, they expressed their excitement when learning the idol had arrived in the country. Some had shaken, others wept, and all lacked words to describe their emotion.

The teenage boys in attendance were no less thrilled by the presence of the stars, screaming loudly when he entered the stage and enthusiastically singing along to familiar tunes. Numerous fans were small enough to ride piggyback on their parents, but only a few faces in the audience had visible wrinkles. One gray-haired man was spotted in the crowd.

The show was a major spectacle of music, colorful lights, videos and dance, with Bieber leading the show with his energetic presence and his multiple skills of singing, dancing and playing the guitar, not to mention his ability to charm the crowd.

Iceland Review photographer Geir Ólafsson was at the concert where he took the following photos.

Bieber’s second concert in Iceland will be at Kórinn tonight.
