Justice League, the latest film in the DC-Comics series, will be shot in Iceland in October, more specifically in the village Djúpavík in the West Fjord’s remote Árneshreppur region. Owner of local hotel Ásbjörn Þorgilsson is expecting a crew of 200.
A number of well-known Icelandic actors will have minor roles in the film, including Ingvar E. Sigurðsson, Kristbjörg Kjeld, Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir and Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, Vísir reports.
Following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which premiered this year, Justice League will include DC-Comics superheroes Batman, Superman, WonderWoman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg.
The first trailer from the new movie was premiered at Comic-Con in San Diego last weekend where Ben Affleck in the role of Bruce Wayne could be seen along with the aforementioned Icelandic actors. Jared Leto also stars in the film.
