The national nomination processes have involved music journalists and industry professionals from each of the five Nordic countries, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland and Denmark.

The final choice of nominees was made by a joint Nordic nomination committee, the leaders of each national committee and one additional journalist from each country.

The 12 nominated albums will be presented to an international jury who in turn will decide the winner of the Nordic Music Prize.

The Nordic Music Prize will be held during the by:Larm music festival in Oslo February 17-19.
