Jónína Bjartmarz, Minister of the Environment wants to be Vice Chairman

Last night Jónína Bjartmarz, who recently became Minister of the Environment announced she would seek the role of Vice Chairman of the Progressive party. The position is currently held by Gudni Ágústsson, Minister of Agriculture. After former Prime Minister Halldór Ásgrímsson announced that he wanted to step down, it was decided that a general meeting of the Progressive party would be held in August. Jón Sigurdsson, Minister of Industry and Commerce, has announced he’s seeking the Chairmanship. Gudin Ágústsson might also seek that position.

Jónína Bjartmarz said it was time for the party’s new beginning.
