British actor John Cleese starred in an advertisement for Kaupthing Bank which premiered on Icelandic television on New Year’s Eve.
Cleese appeared in two other TV commercials for Kaupthing, formerly known as KB Bank, which will appear in the coming days, and was additionally portrayed in print advertisements. Morgunbladid reports.
Björn Baldvinsson and Shepherd Stevenson of PapaBear directed the commercials. Icelandic comedian Thorsteinn Gudmundsson wrote the script.
Baldvinsson described Cleese as a professional who was easy to work with. The directors had also considered David Schwimmer and Pamela Anderson for the part.
