Visir.is caught up with Calabrese near Seljalandsfoss waterfall in South Iceland, where he was traveling at breakneck speed. “I have always wanted to see this country and then I thought ‘why not?’,” he said.
Using Google Earth, he estimated that it will take him 26 days to travel around Iceland but then he realized that it would take longer. “Maybe 26 days is not enough but we have one month to do the circle. After that, our grant money will have run out,” Calabrese revealed. The pair said that the journey is a little dangerous given the peak-season traffic and the narrowness of the national highway.
Twenty-eight year old Calabrese completed his first long skateboard trip in France two years ago. Iceland is the first country that he visits outside the European mainland. “Who knows what the future holds? Maybe I will go to Morocco or South America.”
