There are 142 car rental companies in Iceland with a total of 12,200 rental cars. Three car rental companies rent out cars without insurance, which is illegal, ruv.is reports.

The Icelandic Transport Authority has found out that 38 rental cars are rented without any insurance and has asked the police to find those cars and remove the license plates.
