Invasionistas, a group of eight international artists, will open their Big Bang show in Kling & Bang Gallery tomorrow at 4 pm.
The Invasionistas’ show is in two parts; the Big Bang and Hide Your Babies. Spectators will be able to participate in the first half of the show by taking part in auditions, among other things.
The second half of the show includes magnates, radio waves, currency without inflation, white cock roaches, inflated breasts, genetically modified ice and more.
The Invasionistas’ goal is to investigate the meaning of invasion and examine how it reflects in the world.
The group includes: Agathe Snow from Corsica; Michael Jurewicz from Poland; Theodore Fivel from France; Rita Ackerman from Hungary; and Michael Portnoy, David Adamoog and Marianne Vit from New York.
Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir, a.k.a. Shoplifter, is the Invasionistas’ proclaimed leader and will be directing their activities from New York.
