The goal of the conference is to enhance the participation of immigrants in Icelandic politics, as stated on the Intercultural Center’s website.
Nine interpreters will be present to interpret into the following languages: Arabic, English, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Tagalog, Thai and Vietnamese.
Similarly, the questions attendees pose to the presidential candidates in these languages will be translated to Icelandic, Fréttablaðið reports.
The conference will be held today, June 13, from 5 to 7 pm in the Community Center at Aflagrandi 40 in Reykjavík. All are welcome.
Up until the presidential election, icelandreview.com will give all six candidates a chance to introduce themselves to our readers by answering five questions on their qualities and policies for the presidential office.
The first interview will be posted in the coming days.
