Unusually high levels of particle pollution were measured in Reykjavík today. At 14:30, pollution levels of 177µg/m3, more than four times the upper safe limit of 50 µg/m3, were recorded.

On closer inspection, it was discovered that flies had become trapped in the air quality measurement instruments, interfering with air quality readings in the capital.
According to the Environment Agency of Iceland, the equipment should be operational again soon.
