German actor Daniel Brühl, who played a large role in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (2009), signed an agreement last week to participate in Icelandic director Valdís Óskarsdóttir’s new feature film Kóngavegur 7.
“He is very excited about coming here; he has wanted to come to Iceland for a long time,” Davíd Óskar Óskarsson, one of the movie’s three producers, told Fréttabladid.
Kóngavegur 7 features everyday life in an Icelandic trailer park and shooting begins this week. “[Brühl] is shooting a German film at a similar time so we will adapt to his schedule. He will spend some time with us this week, then fly to Berlin and return to Iceland,” Óskarsson said.
“This certainly opens various doors regarding distributing the film abroad,” Óskarsson added of Brühl’s participation in the project.
