Independence Party Rising Again

The Independence Party would receive 34,6 percent of the votes should parliamentary elections take place now, mbl.is reports. These are the results of a poll made by Midlun for newspaper Morgunbladid this month.

This means that the Party has added just under eleven percent to their following since the last parliamentary election in April 2009, and just under five percent since Capacent’s poll last month.

While the Left-Greens have somewhat held their following with 21,5 percent, the Democratic Alliance and the Progressive Party have lost considerable support since the election.

Of those polled, 23,8 percent would vote for the Democratic Alliance. The party received just fewer than 30 percent of votes in the 2009 election.

According to the poll, the Progressive Party has lost a great deal of its following, receiving 7,6 percent.

Hreyfingin received 5,9 percent in the poll.
