Independence Party Publishes Book on Oddsson

To commemorate the 60th birthday on January 17 of Davíd Oddsson, former Prime Minister and Independence Party leader, and current director of Iceland’s Central Bank, young Independence Party members have published a book about his life.

The book is entitled Davíd Oddsson in Words and Pictures 1948-2008 and is divided into several chapters, beginning with his youth, covering his career as Mayor of Reykjavík, Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and finally, as Central Bank director, Morgunbladid reports.

The book contains a wealth of photographs from Oddson’s personal and public life. The text was written by Dr. Hannes Hólmsteinn Gissurarson, professor in political sciences at the University of Iceland, and Borgar Thór Einarsson, Davíd Örn Jónsson and Gísli Baldur Gíslason had a seat on the editorial board.
