Independence Party Breaches Advertising Cost Agreement

The Independence Party breached an agreement made by the political parties regarding the maximum advertising cost leading up to the municipal election last month, reports. The agreement stipulated that the total expense of each party regarding published advertisements in the media would not exceed 11 million ISK, including VAT, in the period between april 29th and may 29th.

The Independence Party spent 11,8 million ISK but other parties were under the limit. The Democratic Alliance spent million ISK, Left-Greens 6,8 million and the Progressive Party 2,4 million.
