Increasingly Higher Wages in Iceland

Statistics Iceland has published the latest wage figures for the country. The wage index in January 2012 was 418.2 points, unchanged from the previous month. In the last twelve months the monthly wage index has risen by 9.1 percent.

The wage index is based on earnings for a regular working week each month, calculated and published in the month following calculation.

The real wage index in January is 110.8 points, and has decreased by 0.3 percent from the previous month. In the last twelve months, the real wage index has increased by 2.5 percent.
