A new and improved version of Já.is, Iceland’s most popular service website was launched last weekend. Changes include driving instructions between different locations—which is a first in Iceland—and an English version.
Improvements have also been made to maps available through the website, including detailed information on all roads, highways and trails in the country.
In addition to driving instructions, users can obtain information on service outlets along the way, such as the location of petrol stations and swimming pools.
The website also serves as an online phone book, listing contact information and postal addresses of almost every resident and company in the country.
The improved version of Já.is has been under development for one and a half year and all of its sections have been reviewed with the goal of making the web faster, more user-friendly and more serviceable.
