Icy conditions have also been reported on the mountain passes across Fjarðarheiði and Jökuldalsheiði, Mjóafjarðarheiði and Oddsskarð, mbl.is reports.

The highland road north of the glaciers is impassable according to the Icelandic Road Administration.

The weather is mostly fine across Iceland today with temperatures of 0 to 10°C (32 to 50°F) during the daytime and the warmest conditions in the south. Sleet is expected inland and rain in parts of the north.
