Icy Roads in Many Parts of Iceland

Roads are icy in many parts of the country, according to the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration. All main roads are clear in the south, but patchy ice on most side roads. Kjósaskarð, Krýsuvíkurvegur and Nesvegur are very icy.

Most main roads in West Iceland are clear, but there is patchy ice on Holtavörðuheiði and Brattabrekka passes. The road in Lundareykjadalur is very icy.

Roads in the West Fjords are generally very icy. The same can be said about roads in the north and northeast. There is a winter storm and very icy roads in Hálsar.

Between Mývatn lake and Egilsstaðir in the East Fjords, there is patchy ice, and stormy weather in Mývatnsöræfi. There is also a winter storm and very icy road conditions between Biskupsháls in the northeast and Egilsstaðir.

Roads in East Iceland are very icy in many areas and windy weather conditions.

Roads in Southeast Iceland are mostly clear.
