TV-station NFS reports that twenty-five traffic accidents occurred in Reykjavik yesterday, all minor and none causing serious injuries.
A sudden formation of ice on the roads caused the accidents, according to NFS. Traffic authorities responded by putting salt on the roads.
Several minor accidents were also reported in Akureyri yesterday, presumably caused by similar conditions.
