The building at Lækjargata 12, in central Reykjavík, is currently under demolition.
Originally built between the years 1959-63, the building housed the old Iðnaðarbanki bank, and later Íslandsbanki bank in 1990.
The building’s design was criticised by a number of people, who felt that its dominating industrial look contradicted the older, modest look of central Reykjavík.
