Representatives of the Foreign Affairs committee of the Icelandic parliament, Althingi, will in all probability meet with the Foreign Affairs committee of the British parliament in London on Tuesday next week.
Árni Thór Sigurdsson, the Icelandic committee’s chairman, has confirmed that the meeting is scheduled to take place with Stöd 2’s news department.
The Icelandic government and opposition met with the Icelandic negotiation committee’s chairman, American attorney Lee C. Buchheit, yesterday to discuss the situation of the Icesave dispute, but no new meeting between the negotiation committees of Iceland, the UK and the Netherlands has been scheduled.
According to Stöd 2’s sources, Dutch authorities are much tougher to deal with these days than British authorities, mainly because of the campaign currently taking place in the Netherlands.
However, Buchheit and the chairpersons of the Dutch and British committees have been in contact, although no formal meetings have taken place.
