Icelandic Tourist Board Allocates ISK 279 Million to Tourism

The Icelandic Tourist Board allocated ISK 279 million (USD 2.37 million, EUR 1.8 million) to 75 projects across the country this week.

The Environment Agency of Iceland was awarded the highest amount, ISK 75 million for a service center at Hellissandur in connection with, Snæfellsness National Park while Vatnajökull National Park was awarded ISK 37.5 million for the development of a service center at Dettifoss waterfall, ruv.is reports.

Sixty percent of the nightly accommodation tax is directed to a fund of thethe Icelandic Tourist Board’s development fund.
