Icelandic Swimmers Train for World Cup

Seven Icelandic swimmers will represent Iceland in the Swimming World Cup held in Shanghai, China starting on Sunday; the swimmers are already in China preparing for the competition.

The Swimming World Cup will commence on Sunday, July 24 and comes to an end on Sunday, July 31.

Since July 6, the seven swimmers representing Iceland, five women and two men, have been training in Singapore but flew to the host city yesterday where they will continue to prepare for the competition.

The five women competiting are Erla Dögg Haraldsdóttir, Eygló Ósk Gústafsdóttir, Hrafnhildur Lúthersdóttir, Ingibjörg Kristín Jónsdóttir and Ragnheidur Ragnarsdóttir; the two men are Jakob Jóhann Sveinsson and Anton Sveinn McKee, Morgunbladid reports.

They are coached by Jacky Pellerin, also the head coach at the Aegir Swimming Club in Reykjavík.
