Eidur Smári Gudjohnsen, who plays for European champions Barcelona, was included in the original lineup in a match against Osasuna in the Spanish league last night, but had to back out due to a feisty migraine.
“I was in fine condition during most of the day, but then I got an immense headache and threw up, so there was no sense in me playing even though I had almost recovered before the game,” Gudjohnsen said in an interview with Morgunbladid.
“I just have to wait for the next opportunity and hopefully I’ll get it next weekend. The team has been troubled by sluggishness since the beginning of this year, but the same goes for other teams,” Gudjohnsen said.
“Sevilla has yielded and Real Madrid is not doing great things these days. The irritating thing is that we have not been able to use that to our advantage. We are still in the top seat but we know that we can play much better than we have shown,” Gudjohnsen added.
Gudjohnsen has scored ten goals for Barcelona this season, but has not been on the court for many minutes in total. “People have to realize that I’m playing with the best team in the world and it is not a given that I can play every single minute,” he said.
