Icelandic Siblings seek to break world record in Chinese Whispers

Brother and sister, Diljá Ásmundsdóttir and Örn Alexander Ásmundason will attempt to break the world record in Chinese Whispers (also commonly known as Telephone) on August 18 during the Culture Night in Reykjavík. They hope that Culture Night will bring in many participants, although they will need well over 1,000 people to break the world record.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

A word is chosen and participants whisper that word to the next person until the word has reach the end of the chain, and at that time, the final person will repeat the word, which has often morphed along the way.

The current world record, which these siblings hope to break, is held by a group of Chinese people that were able to whisper a word 1,082 times without losing the word.
