Support, a short film by Icelandic director Börkur Sigthórsson, was recently granted the first prize at the international Azyl film festival in Bratislava. It competed against 30 other short films in the “Advertisement of Life” category.
The film is only one-minute long and was also named Best Film at the Reykjavík Shorts & Docs festival last fall, Morgunbladid reports.
“It is an inevitable chain reaction. If a film receives attention at one festival it has the opportunity to be screened at other festivals, so I’m noticing increased interest,” Sigthórsson said.
Support will compete at the Festival International des Trés Courts in Paris next where no film is longer than four minutes.
