Icelandic Sheep Featured at Italian Theater

The latest production of the Italian children’s theater company TPO is called Kindur (which is Icelandic for “sheep”) and features “the adventurous life of sheep in Iceland,” inspired by two visits to the country.

A video of the show on YouTube.

“We chose the point of view of sheep, first of all because we create children’s shows and in addition because during our stays we found that sheep in summer were everywhere and so they possibly knew the land better than anyone else,” says TPO’s spokesperson Stefania Zampiga.

The show is rather unconventional as hidden sensors “create a context filled with images and sounds activated by dancers and the audience.” There are three contemporary art dancers on stage.

TPO is now touring with Kindur through Europe and the US and are hoping to bring it to Iceland as well.
