Two representatives of the Icelandic Red Cross, Magna Björk Ólafsdóttir and Áslaug Arnoldsdóttir, traveled to Iraq today to work with the International Red Cross.
Ólafsdóttir, who is a nurse, will work for three months in Najaf where she will train nursing staff and ambulance workers in the local hospital’s ICU, ruv.is reports.
Arnoldsdóttir will spend nine months in Iraq and be responsible for the healthcare of the employees of the International Red Cross, as well as visit prisons and hospitals in Baghdad where the facilities are being improved.
