Icelandic Production of Romeo and Juliet up for Award

An Icelandic theater production of Romeo and Juliet has been put on a short-list as one of the best theater plays in Germany in 2013.

The play was staged in Staatstheater in Mainz and was directed by Þorleifur Arnar Arnarsson. Filipía Elísdóttir was the costume designer and Jósef Halldórsson the production designer, ruv.is reports.

Around 50 new plays are premiered in Germany each week.
