Icelandic Police Identify Deceased Tourist

death-announcementsThe investigative department of the police in Akranes, West Iceland, has discovered the identity of the foreign tourist who was found dead in Dritvík on Snæfellsnes peninsula on March 28 after publishing a photo of him in the media.

The man is a 30-year-old French citizen. His name and address have been obtained but the international department of the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police in cooperation with Interpol has yet to have the information confirmed by his family in France, visir.is reports.

After the police published the photo of the man earlier this week, they received information from different places that he had visited since he came to Iceland approximately one month ago.

There are no indications of foul play.
