Icelandic Police: Icelander still being Investigated as Missing Person

Friðrik Kristjánsson, who has been missing for nine months, is still being investigated as a missing person. Chief superintendent Karl Steinar Valsson confirmed this to ruv.is today, adding that they are no closer to finding out what happened to Friðrik. There have been conflicting reports in the media about the case.

Friðrik reportedly flew from Iceland to Amsterdam before traveling to Brazil and then Paraguay. Friðrik called home on March 31 saying that he was at the airport in Brazil on his way to Paraguay but his arrival in Paraguay has not been confirmed, ruv.is reports.

Karl did not comment on whether another Icelander had been traveling with Friðrik.

Friðrik’s family set up a website requesting people to contact them if they have any information about Friðrik’s possible whereabouts.
