Icelandic play nominated for prize in Canada

The Icelandic play “Blue Planet” by author Andri Snær Magnason has been nominated for a prize in five categories at Canada’s Dora Awards. The play has been showing at the Lorrainne Kimsa theater in Toronto since February and has drawn an audience of 17 thousand to date.

Although the Blue Planet is considered a children’s play, it is nominated as best play in the general category, as well as for best costumes, best set, best choreography and best director.

The Blue Planet is based on a book by the same name, now published in 14 languages.
