Páll Arason, who bequeathed his penis to the Icelandic Phallological Museum in Húsavík after his death, passed away on January 5. The museum’s director Sigurdur Hjartarson said he hasn’t received a confirmation from Arason’s relatives on whether their agreement will be honored yet but firmly expects it will be.

The Icelandic Phallological Museum carries penises of all mammals in and around Iceland, except for a human specimen.
“I have the testicles from one person and the foreskin from another but I’ve been waiting for a perfect specimen for a long time. This is the only thing missing,” Hjartarson told visir.is.
However, Hjartarson said he will remain patient and not put any pressure on Arason’s agreement with him which they made 14 years ago. He has also made agreements with three other potential human penis donors.
The museum currently displays 209 penises in part or in whole from 46 different animal species in the Icelandic section, including 55 specimens from whales, and 23 specimens from 19 different animal species in the international section.
