Icelandic Opera Singer Performs for Putin

Beloved Icelandic opera singer Sigrún Hjálmtýsdóttir, a.k.a. Diddú, recently performed with the Terem Quartet for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his successor Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow.

The concert hall was full to the brim and Putin and Medvedev were seated in the front row, Fréttabladid reports.

“Putin is a big fan of the Terem Quartet and often ask them to perform at special occasion,” Hjálmtýsdóttir said. “There was a huge party after the concert but I didn’t talk to Putin. I stayed with the performers.”
