The band Reykjavík! (top) and solo artists Pétur Ben (middle) and Helgi Hrafn (bottom) are performing at the annual Spot music festival in Aarhus in Denmark this weekend to help promote Nordic musicians.
“We have already received inquiries about the Icelandic musicians [in relation to their appearance at Spot], both from music festivals and record labels,” said Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdóttir, the managing director of Icelandic Music Export, who is promoting the artists.
A conference on the future of the music business will be held alongside the festival and Spot performers are also offered courses in songwriting.
Spot is held the first weekend of June every year to promote Nordic musicians locally and internationally.
