Icelandic Music on So You Think You Can Dance

Two songs by Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds, “Kjurrt” and “Gleypa okkur”, will probably be played in the next season of US reality dance program So You Think You Can Dance which will be aired at the end of May.

Arnalds pointed out that the show has yet to be edited, “You never know what will end up on television and what won’t,” but it is likely they will as two dancers on the show picked the songs, which are mellow tunes from the album And They Have Escaped the Weight of Darkness, released last year, for their routines, Fréttabladid reports.

The upcoming season of So You Think You Can Dance will be the eighth. Five million American viewers watched the last series so this could prove good promotion for Arnalds, who recently signed an agreement with the Hollywood talent agency CAA.
