Three Icelandic bands and soloists, Dikta, Skátar and Kira Kira, will perform at the “In the City” music festival in Manchester October 22 at the Pitcher and Piano concert venue during a special “International Showcase Night,” dedicated to Iceland.
This is the second time that an “Iceland Showcase” night is held during the festival. Last year Ólöf Arnalds, Elíza Newman and Mammút performed. Tony Wilson, the festival’s founder, requested Iceland be represented again this year.
“In the City” is also a music conference, and the largest of its kind in Europe. It spans three days during which representatives from record labels, producers, concert organizers and managers convene.
Many up-and-coming musicians have been discovered during “In the City,” including Coldplay, Oasis and Muse.
The “International Showcase – Iceland” night is organized by Lavaland Records in cooperation with Icelandic Music Export.
