The nominations for the 20th annual Icelandic Music Awards were announced earlier this week, visir.is reports.

The band Hjaltalín received the most nominations, eight in total in the pop and rock categories.
Mammút received seven nominations and Emilíana Torrini and John Grant four.
Íkorni and Drangar are next with three nominations each and Lay Low and Baggalútur have two. Jóhanna Guðrún was also nominated female singer of the year for the song ‘Mamma þarf að djamma’ which she performs with Baggalútur.
In the jazz and blues category, Samúel Jón Samúelsson Big Band and Sunna Gunnlaugs are with the highest number of nominations, or four each. K-Tríó, Tómas R. Einarsson and Sigurður Flosason are with two nominations each.
In the open category, three albums were nominated: Days of Grey by Hjaltalín, For Now I am Winter by Ólafur Arnalds and The Lighthouse Project by Amiina.
The awards will be presented in Harpa on March 14 next year.
