Icelandic Ministers Invited to US Data Center Fair

Sellers and buyers of data centers will convene at a large sales fair in the US later this year. Organizers have requested that Icelandic ministers attend the fair to present the possibility of establishing data centers in Iceland.

According to Minister of Industry Össur Skarphédinsson, foreign businesses have shown great interest in establishing data centers in the country and a marine cable between Iceland and the US, Fréttabladid reports.

Skarphédinsson said business opportunities are opening up in relation to data centers because such operations are currently being reorganized in the US.

“They put great emphasis on green energy and to make long-term energy agreements which they can’t do in the US,” Skarphédinsson said.
