Iceland’s Minister of Industry Össur Skarphédinsson is participating in an international conference this week on renewable energy in Washington, DC entitled “WIREC2008.” The conference began yesterday.
At the conference, representatives of companies, public associations and governments from around the world are convening to discuss ways to cooperate on harnessing renewable energy and increase the world’s energy production, DV reports.
The conference also aims at finding energy solutions for specific regions and countries.
During WIREC2008, Skarphédinsson will have a private meeting with the US Assistant Secretary for Energy Alexander Karsner.
