The biannual Landsmót, Icelandic Horse Festival, is coming up. It will run from June 26 to July 3 at Vindheimamelar in Skagafjördur, north Iceland. It was actually supposed to take place last year but was postponed due to a widespread horse flu.

The festival will open with a competition in the children’s and teenagers’ categories and pre-evaluation in senior mare categories on Sunday and comes to an end with the final in the A class of stallions in the early afternoon on July 3, as stated in the horse newspaper Hestabladid.
Entertainment and activities are plentiful, including a Skagfjordian music fest, a children’s song contest, group singing and dances where both musicians and performers from other Icelandic regions will perform.
