Icelandic Jazz Divas at Kjarvalsstadir

Two of Iceland’s foremost female jazz singers, Ragnheidur Gröndal (left) and Kristjana Stefánsdóttir, will perform at Kjarvalsstadir Art Museum tomorrow at 4 pm in relation to the Reykjavík Jazz Festival.

The festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with a 20-day program, stretching from August 13 to September 1. This year the festival seeks to reestablish contact with Nordic jazzists and musicians from France, Austria and the US.

Gröndal and Stefánsdóttir will be backed by pianist Eythór Gunnarsson, guitarist Gudmundur Pétursson and bassist Róbert Thórhallsson. Tickets cost ISK 1,500 (USD 11.6, EUR 7.4) for those who don’t hold a festival pass.

The exhibition “Jazz Madness” is open at Kjarvalsstadir daily between 10 am and 5 pm. Admission is free.
