“We are very satisfied with the investigative work that we carried out,” Special Prosecutor Ólafur Thór Hauksson told Morgunbladid.

Forty employees of the Luxembourg police participated in the raids. It is uncertain whether they will lead to charges being filed.

“It is a limited investigative action which is related to several cases,” Hauksson explained, adding that much is at stake.

Eleven individuals were questioned in connection with the raids. They were all involved with Kaupthing Bank in one way or another.

Banque Havilland took over the operations of Kaupthing in Luxembourg in July last year.
