Icelandic Horses to Play in Game of Thrones
Fifteen Icelandic horses will have a role in Game of Thrones when shooting for the US television series will take place in southeast Iceland at the end of this month.
The horses include 28-year-old Randver whose acting experience saved it from being put down due to its old age and will now live to experience another winter, Fréttabladid reports.
Horse farmer Jens Pétur Högnason will provide the crew of Game of Thrones with horses for the filming and will help out at the set along with his assistants.
Högnason said it is a work of great patience to have horses on a film set and they must have a good temper.
Randver has the right qualities and considerable experience for the part; it has both been on stage in Reykjavík City Theater and at Hotel Ísland.
