Every World Championships has a song that aims to bring Icelandic horse enthusiasts into the right mood.

This year’s song was written and sung by the Icelandic horse breeder Sebastian Frische, a German native.
The video of the making shows Sebastian’s black stallion Kári von der Retzenhöhe in a shopping mall in Augsburg. A striking demonstration that Icelandic horses are not only capable of high-performance sport, but feature strength of nerve and courage.
The song is then less about sporting success and rather what the Icelandic horse actually symbolizes: freedom, pride, and energy, as captured by Frische’s lyrics.
“Give me your soul, take care of me,
I’ll carry you through life – you can rely on me”
More information about the song can be found on the competition website.
