The private TV station Stöð 2 has purchased the rights to broadcast live in Iceland the Icelandic Horse World Championships in Berlin, visir.is reports.

This is the first time the competition is held in a European capital and also the first time it will be broadcast live with Icelandic commentators.
The competition has aroused great interest both at home and abroad. About 2,000 Icelandic visitors have bought tickets and a total of around 30,000 visitors as well as163 horses from 15 countries are expected at the competition, which kicks off tomorrow.
In addition to the daily live broadcast there will be a summary of the highlights of the day. The event commences with a ride to the Brandenburg Gate, in which the Icelandic president’s wife, Dorrit Moussaieff, will participate.
