Icelandic gymnasts score high in Monaco

The Icelandic gymnastic team won 13 prizes yesterday in the 2007 Games of the Small States of Europe held in Monaco. Viktor Kristmannsson and Frída Rún Einarsdóttir were the most successful.

Kristmannsson won five medals and Einarsdóttir three, Morgunbladid reports.

The Icelandic team of swimmers was also successful; the swimmers took home five gold medals and seven prizes in total. Örn Arnarson broke the Icelandic record in 50-meter freestyle at the tournament.
