Icelandic government promotes use of geothermal resources at UN

Morgunbladid reports that representatives of the Icelandic government organized a meeting yesterday at UN headquarters in New York to promote the use of geothermal resources.

The Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Industry and Trade were responsible for organizing the meeting. It was ment to have a special appeal to developing nations. The meeting was planned in connection with a UN conference on sustainable development.

Iceland will also participate in a symposium about the use of hydrogen to be held on May 8.
