Icelandic Game Developer Nominated for Nordic Prize

Icelandic casual game developer Gogogic has been nominated for the 2009 Nordic Game Awards in the category “Best New Nordic Talent” for its recently-released iPhone game Symbol6. No other Icelandic games were nominated this year.

The winner will be announced on May 19.

Gogogic managing director Jónas Björgvin Antonsson said in a press release that he is very pleased with the nomination.

Antonsson added that the nomination indicates that close attention is being paid to Icelandic game companies and that Gogogic is on the right track in terms of game development.

The award ceremony takes place during the Nordic Game Conference in Malmö, Sweden, in May, during which Antonsson will give a presentation.
