Icelandic Footballers Rewarded for Tactfulness

The Icelandic national team in women’s football was named the most tactful team of the 2009 UEFA Europe Cup in Finland. The team’s coach Sigurdur Ragnar Eyjólfsson will accept the award in Nyon, Switzerland today.

Among items that were taken into account when the most tactful team was chosen were the number of cards given, the attitude of players and other team members and the behavior of spectators, ruv.is reports.

The Icelandic national team in women’s football was the first Icelandic A-list football team to qualify for a major championship.
